Museums as we know them today evolved from the curiosity cabinets of the Renaissance, which showcased the wonder of creation, both human and natural. Esoteric Museology traces and documents this spirit of wonder in museums today, considers the uses of abstract museums, and encourages the use of personal museums as a means of personal expression.
